Whey Shake contiene proteine del siero de latte di altissima ad alto valore biologico (VB 104. Il Valore biologico è un parametro di valutazione degli alimenti in base alla qualitá delle proteine contenuti in essi. Esso dipende dalla composizione in aminoacidi di un alimento e alla sua digeribilitá, ed è definito come il rapporto tra l’azoto trattenuto e l’azoto assorbito) con composizione amminoacidica molto simile a quella del muscolo umano. La whey shake contiene il 75% di proteina e bassissime quantitá di grassi e carboidrati per porzione. Ricco in aminoacidi essenziali, in particolare di aminoacidi a catena ramificata, contiene anche le frazioni glicomacropeptidiche che hanno una funzionalitá glucogenica (produzione di glucosio a partire da alcuni aminoacidi come glicina, valina, isoleucina, alanina). La proteina usata in questo prodotto supporta la sintesi proteica, favorendo e rendendo piu rapido il recupero muscolare dopo un’intensa attivitá fisica ed incrementando la massa e la forza muscolare, per questo motivo uno dei migliori momenti per assumere questo prodotto è direttamente dopo l’attivitá fisica. Alcuni studi hanno anche dimostrato che presa prima dei pasti riduce l’appetito di circa il 50%. Altri benefici sono un miglioramento della densitá ossea, delle difese immunitarie e delle funzioni cardiache.
