L’acido folico è una vitamina del gruppo B molto importante per il normale processo di crescita dei tessuti materni in gravidanza e per il processo di divisione delle cellule.
L’acido folico contribuisce, inoltre, alla normale funzione del sistema immunitario. Le fonti alimentari ricche di acido folico sono i vegetali a foglia verde come gli spinaci, la bietola, i cardi.
Altre buone fonti sono i legumi, i broccoli, gli agrumi, i cereali integrali, il fegato. La cottura e la manipolazione dei cibi riducono il contenuto di acido folico.
L’acido folico, come tutte le vitamine del gruppo B, è idrosolubile e viene rapidamente eliminato con le urine. E’ dunque fondamentale una sua regolare introduzione con la dieta. La richiesta di questa vitamina aumenta particolarmente durante la gravidanza. I segni di un deficit di acido folico sono depressione, insonnia, irritabilità, affaticamento, debolezza, anemia macrocitica.
Le compresse di Acido Folico di Jamieson vengono realizzate attraverso un procedimento denominato “Dry Compression” secondo il quale gli ingredienti vengono miscelati a secco evitando l’impiego di alcool, altri solventi chimici, temperature elevate e prolungate.
